Fantastic, you got a good shot of a Mansion on the right (concrete steps by the river) was owned by Berons in the 60s, this mansion was where I learned to swim in their pool on the estate by the house for free because a farm workers son drowned in the Thames and they decided to give all the kids on the estate swimming lessons, peacocks an all!(several farms inc large pig farm we were on at Frogmill)

I was once very keen to get into narrow boats as I lived near a lot in the Midlands. You'd be forgiven in thinking it's a peaceful. relaxing hobby - just the thing for later life. So glad I didn't invest - saved me about £75,000 For that I'm grateful.

Sorry to hear your moving ashore. You guy are resourceful, so you'll bounce back. I'm really gutted for you that you've been forced into leaving the cut 😢 Im sure you have been trying to come up with loads of options to stay on the boat that your heads are turned! Have you thought about renting for a while until you can get the boat closer to you? Like on the Taunton/ Bridgewater canal? Hopefully give it another couple of years you'll be able to get back on the water. Xx

Congratulations on the birth of you grand child. it's the first time I have seen your post, I must say that i am a bit shocked that as you are boat owner your lack for water safety. But you are not alone in this from the video, vlogs I have watched of other canal boat owners are the same as you as regards to water safety. Yes you were concerned about your boat, where you had it moored was flooded, you went out and got a new pair of chest waders, then you went out and checked your boat, your video clearly showed the power of the water whelming under the boats you even stated that between the boats it was that strong you had trouble walking by them. Looking at it the water was about knee deep? and you have fast flowing water, so that begs the Question where was your Life Jacket? do any of you canal boat owners have them? now this is just a thought not criticism as such, more about the lack of thought. Yes you went to check on your boat to make sure it was safe, but then you had total disregard for your own safety. yes i know I will get criticism for writing this, but hear me out. like i said you got your new chest highs, yes there is land where you are walking, but you are going into a flooded area with fast flowing water on the edge of the river/canal, you are well dressed as such, what would have happened if the pressure/ speed of the water had taken your feet away? Now your in the water, now your wet, but now your in trouble. Your new chest highs are now filled with water, a lot of water! We saw how you struggled to put them on, so they not coming off quick! Did you think about the water temperature? it would be cold that i can guarantee! so now we have a second problem called Cold water shock. And yes you can get that in the middle of the summer as well! lakes, canals, and the sea. Have you ever wondered why the employees of the canal trusts wear life Jackets? for show? status? all the video's canal boat owners post you will always see those employees wearing Life Jackets, but it seems like the boaters are exempt from wearing them? but I digress looking at it not once did you think about your own safety, your boat yes! but yourself? that was a NO, you willingly put yourself in danger without any thought. may I suggest you and other boaters get some Life Jackets and wear them, because you never know they might save your Life one day. Now most of you might think that I am having a rant, but I was young when I fell off a boat no Life Jacket i had taken it off because I was getting off the boat, but i ended up in the water, fortunately my waders were over size and i was able to kick them off, then the cold water shock hit me, i couldn't breath, fortunately for me I had training for something like this, i took about 30seconds before i could breath again, i didn't know what happened to me, only that i was in the water. My crew threw me a Life ring that was only inches away from me, I couldn't reach for it, my body was frozen, it took about 5 minutes to calm down and then reach for the Life ring, I was extremely lucky to have had that training. Now if I had kept my Life Jacket on not only would it help save my life, it would have given me the time to keep afloat face above water, yes i went under 3 times so my crew told me afterwards, but it would have brought me more time to come to my senses. but it was a lesson well learnt, i never go near a boat without a Life Jacket, I went cruising on the Norfolk Broads with my friends guess who had the Life Jacket on? but that didn't last long on the 3rd day everyone had one, the second night we had moored up, being a hot summer day what way to cool off than have a swim, one of my friends jumped off the boat into the water, they got to see cold water shock in action. sorry this is long! but it might give you all something to think about.

I clicked 'like', but neither of us can say we like this video because it is sad. While it is good that you have managed to get a new job it is sad to hear what happened to your previous employment and that you guys are going to be heading ashore to live. I suppose heading into the estate agency line should mean you can find a good property for yourselves though. Yours is actually the only wide beam vlog we watch. We prefer narrow beams, but we like you two. We both wish you all the best for the transition to shore life - and we will be watching for any vlogs you manage to put out. Tim & Jalika Malaysia

I think it's inevitable, with climate change, that the recent challenges you have experienced will only increase in frequency. Although understandably gutted now, you may come to look back upon this time as a defining moment and a change for the better in the longer term. I'm sure, however, that will seem cold comfort right now. I will continue to follow your course and wish you both all the very best for the future - whatever that holds. I have really enjoyed your vlogs over the years with all the ups and downs of your aquatic wanderings. At least they are preserved for everyone to enjoy into the future. Security of home and income is important, however, and you must do what is best for you both to ensure that. All the very best wishes for the times ahead and if you have the motivation to still make vlogs I am sure there will still be an audience to appreciate them.
